WAGE Consolidates Information Resources
and Administrative Support
by Catherine Shephard-Haier

One of WAGE's goals is to provide information for its members and others interested in gender discrimination. Also, with the WAGE mailing list now over three hundred names and growing, more administrative support was needed. With thanks to Charity Hirsch for her generous volunteer work, the Governing Council has approved contracting for support services.

I am pleased to take on this work through my business, Black Dog Information Services (BDIS). As some of you know, I am a WAGE member and had a discrimination suit against UC which was settled out of court last year. I have two UC degrees and twenty years of UC work experience, most recently as Management Services Officer for the Department of Plant Biology.

Among the first projects approved by the WAGE Governing Council is assembling a list of professionals such as attorneys and fund raisers with whom members have worked successfully; please give me your suggestions. I will also be handling member dues, correspondence, and mailings. I look forward to working with WAGE to improve services to members and to develop its reputation as an authority on gender discrimination at the University of California.
