Arkansas Suit
Mark Cory, named in Linda Schilcher´s suit against the University of Arkansas (see
Case Updates) has been named in another suit against the university. Sarah Cox, a former student, has filed a $2 million suit, claiming that Cory sexually harassed and discriminated against her. Cory, who had been investigated due to a similar complaint, resigned from the university in June of 2004.
Tenured Professor Firing Upheld
Wisconsin´s highest court has ruled that the firing of a tenured professor for alleged sexual harassment and other misconduct did not violate state law. John Marder, a professor with tenure in the University of Wisconsin system, was fired by its board of regents (see
Fall 2001 Newsletter).
