Kotla vs. UC Regents: Victory
Gary Gwilliam, co-counsel in Singleton et al., currently represents Dee Kotla,
a former computer technician at LLNL, in a wrongful termination case against
the Laboratory. In the decision handed down on March 11, 2002 the jury awarded
Kotla $1 million in total damages. One of her claims in the case was that the
Laboratory was motivated to fire her because she protested "what she reasonably
and in good faith believed to be inequality in pay between men and women."
Three WAGE members were in court for the final arguments in the case to lend moral
support to Kotla who has fought for five years to gain this victory.
