What Did UC Spend Fighting YOU?
Want to know what the OGC spent on your case? WAGE has an address list and a packet of sample letters you can use to obtain this information through the Freedom of Information Act or the California Public Records Act. Call or
e-mail us for a copy.
Here are some tips:
Online names and addresses:
http://www.ucop.edu (UC Regents and executive officers);
http://www.senate.ca.gov and
http://www.assembly.ca.gov (State legislators).
- Send everything by certified mail so you have proof of mailing when you follow up. Even though UC is legally required to release this information, most requesters find their letters ignored unless legislators and/or state officials are notified too.
- Consider citing the California Public Records Act which requires a response to you within ten working days of receiving your letter.
- Be prepared to persevere. You may need to send several requests (and sets of copies) to show you are serious.
Note: The OCG's new address
1111 Franklin Street, 8th Floor
Oakland, California 94607
